We all hear about "Not comparing yourself to others" and that "comparing yourself is the thief of joy". To be honest, I agree and it's strange that I am contradicting myself because I compare myself A LOT. The more I looked into it, the more I realized that we have a natural tendency to compare ourselves. It's a human thing to do. The issue is that we tend to be very excessive over comparing ourselves to others to the point where it takes a toll on us. For example, we are demotivated to see someone's success because we believe we can't reach the goal they are in. We all have jealousy. Big or small. Even where I am at right now, I am still jealous that many people I know that got into big tech companies like Microsoft. To get more context, I want to share a story with you. Story Time Back in the day, I remember it was the year of the ACT. For those who don't know: It's a Standardized test that is needed for the college admissions to determine if you are admitted to their program. I remember I got a national average of 21 as my composite score and I was proud of the score I got since it's the national average during that time. However, I remember the day where my friends talked about the ACT. The most common thing I heard was: "Oh I got a 30" "I got a 32" "Man I got a 35, it was sooo easy" Hearing that makes me feel not only bummed out, but felt left out. I was feeling that I wasn't smart enough to be in the group. What's worse is that they got accepted into colleges and programs that are well known. Then they start boasting about their accomplishments. I felt like I am the odd-one-out because of my scores and their accomplishments I could not match. Why am I Talking about this? Looking back and knowing where they are at now, I am proud of who I become today. It's not that they have fallen downhill (they are still successful), but the route they have taken that I definitely could not follow. Tokens and DAOs: The Real Technical Problems Behind On-Chain Communities
Tokens and DAOs are often presented as simple ideas: issue a token, distribute ownership, let the community vote, and build a decentralized organization. In reality, the technical problems behind tokens and DAOs are much deeper. A token is not only an asset, and a DAO is not only a voting system. Together, they create an economic, governance, security, and coordination layer that must work reliably in a hostile, open environment. The first major problem is token design. Many projects treat token creation as a deployment task, but the real challenge is defining what the token actually controls. Does it represent governance power, protocol revenue, access rights, reputation, staking weight, or all of these at once? When one token is used for too many purposes, the system becomes fragile. For example, a token designed for liquidity may not be suitable for governance, because the most active traders may not be the most aligned decision-makers. Good token architecture should separate economic utility, governance authority, and long-term reputation where possible. The second problem is distribution. A DAO can be decentralized in branding but centralized in practice if token ownership is concentrated among founders, investors, or early insiders. On-chain governance depends heavily on voting power, so distribution directly affects decision quality. Poor distribution creates governance capture, where a small group can control treasury spending, protocol upgrades, or parameter changes. This is not only a social issue; it is a technical design issue. Vesting contracts, delegation systems, quorum rules, voting delay, and proposal thresholds all influence whether governance is resilient or easily manipulated. Another core issue is governance security. DAO voting is not automatically safe just because it happens on-chain. GSoC 2026 - Week 5
Week 5 of my Google Summer of Code journey with CircuitVerse ( June 22nd to June 28th ) is officially in the books. After dealing with a rough sickness last week, I’m happy to say this week was incredibly positive . 🔄 Reconnecting with the Community Since I had to miss last week's sync because I was under the weather, I had to attend the CircuitVerse GSoC Contributors' Meeting this week. It felt so good to reconnect with everyone ! I shared the progress I'd managed to scrape together over the last couple of weeks, and the mentors were incredibly understanding and kind about my slower pace due to being sick. The CircuitVerse community is genuinely unmatched! Everyone is so encouraging, and having that layer of support makes a world of difference. It was also super motivating to hear what the other contributors have been up to. Seeing how much progress everyone has made gave me a massive burst of inspiration to jump right back into development! 🛠️ importCanonical.ts is Completed! Once the meeting was over, I officially finished implementing the entire import pipeline in importCanonical.ts! 🥳 This file does the heavy lifting of taking our clean, deterministic canonical JSON and reconstructing the circuit right back onto the user's canvas. Here is what's packed inside: 🔀 Full Multi-Circuit Support: The import pipeline seamlessly handles projects containing multiple individual circuits. 📐 Smart Subcircuit Dependency Resolution: Just like the export pipeline, the import engine now uses Kahn's Algorithm to figure out the exact sequence the circuits need to be loaded in so that nested dependencies never break. 🛑 What's Missing? (For Now): The import pipeline doesn't validate the incoming JSON file . I am waiting until the canonical format is finalised. Rest assure, I will respond to each and every one of you and I am glad to be part of this community! With that said, I want to return the favor to the community about something important. I recently talked to @georgekobaidze and @codingwithjiro in the Virtual Coffee group about life in general. What I notice about our conversation how we ended up talking about regrets and how we should have done this and that. For example, we talked about not networking or not doing beyond the coursework at our University/College because of how non-social we are. Of course, we all have regrets like these and we improve overtime. As we kept the conversation going, there is something that comes down to the root based on the conversations we have and conversations I had overall. One side is that we have regrets and as a result, we improve. We self-reflect on our wants and needs and we improvise from there. For example, for me, I never did networking because of the fear of what other people thinks. I slowly realized that 99% of the irrational thoughts never comes true. Even if it does, I know myself that I could handle the situation. As a result, I took small steps and joined dev.to. We all know where I am at now XD On the other hand, there are people who identifies these regrets they have, but does not act on it. It has become common to college students who says that the "Job Market is Cooked" and that "They are not good enough". To be fair, impostor syndrome is real and yes, the job market is coo

What I Learned From DEV Challenges About Winning and Community!
I thought DEV Challenges were about winning. What participating in DEV Challenges taught me. A few months ago, I joined DEV. I didn't know many people. I wasn't well known. I simply wanted to become a better developer. Like many newcomers, I believed something very simple. "If I can win a challenge, maybe that means I'm becoming a real developer." So I kept participating. Sometimes I built retro games. Sometimes I experimented with AI. Sometimes I simply challenged myself to finish something before the deadline. Every challenge taught me something. Every badge made me smile. But after several months, I realized something unexpected. The biggest prize wasn't the badge. I started asking myself... What happens after the contest ends? The badge stays on my profile. The project goes to GitHub. Then... What's next? That question stayed with me for a long time. Then I realized something. I had been focusing on the contest. But the real value wasn't the contest. It was the community. Without DEV... I would never have discussed ideas with developers from around the world. I would never have received reactions from people I had admired. I would never have met developers with completely different ways of thinking. The challenge wasn't just building software. The challenge was becoming part of a community. Something I had rarely experienced before. Most communication happens inside companies. DEV felt different. It gave me a place to keep showing up. To keep learning. To keep improving. That matters more than I realized. The hardest part isn't building software. This surprised me. As I kept building apps, I realized something. Building an app is difficult. But building a place where people discover that app... is much harder. That's when I started appreciating communities like DEV even more. Someone had to build this place. Someone had to create a market where beginners and experienced developers could stand on the same stage. That's an incredible achievement. My goal changed.

My AWS Bedrock Experiment Cost Me $8.43 in Just One Day What I learned about AWS Bedrock pricing the hard way, and why budget alerts saved me Why I Even Tried Claude Code on Bedrock I have been using Claude Code for a while now, connected to Anthropic directly. It works well. But two things were bothering me. First, the usage limits. Claude Code on Anthropic's native setup has 5hours session limit and a weekly usage cap. Once you hit it, you have to wait. If you are in the middle of something or just want to experiment freely, that gets frustrating fast. Second, billing. I already manage everything on AWS. I'm very familiar with it, the invoices go to one place, and I understand how to track and control costs there. Adding a separate Anthropic subscription meant one more billing account, one more credit card charge, one more thing to track. I just wanted everything under one roof. So I thought, why not try Claude Code connected to Amazon Bedrock? Same tool, runs on AWS, billed through AWS. Seemed like a clean solution to both problems. What happened next is why I am writing this post. The Two Ways to Run Claude Code Most people do not realise Claude Code can be configured to run in two different ways. Option 1: Claude Code via Anthropic directly You connect Claude Code to Anthropic's API or use it under your Claude subscription. Billing goes through Anthropic. If you are on a subscription plan, you pay a flat monthly fee and the usage limits apply to how much you can do within that. Option 2: Claude Code via Amazon Bedrock You connect Claude Code to AWS Bedrock as the backend. Same Claude models, but now AWS is your provider. Billing goes through your AWS account. No Anthropic subscription needed. From the outside, it looks and feels the same. But the billing model underneath is completely different, and that is where things get interesting.
